Pokemon Go: Watch Out for Shiny Litten During March 2024 Community Day

Friday, March 15th, 2024 11:30 pm

Here kitty, kitty!

The next Pokemon Go Community Day event will take place on March 16, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

During this event, Litten will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Litten. Shiny Litten is red and white, rather than red and black.

Litten is a Fire-type Pokemon from the seventh generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Litten into Torracat using 25 Litten Candy, and then evolve Torracat into Incineroar using 100 Litten Candy.

Each time players evolve Torracat into Incineroar during this event or during the five hours immediately following it, Incineroar will learn the move Blast Burn.

In addition, once this event begins, the move Darkest Lariat will be added to the set of moves Incineroar can learn. To be especially clear, players aren’t guaranteed to receive an Incineroar that knows the move Darkest Lariat during this event, but Darkest Lariat will be added to the list of moves Incineroar can learn.

A variety of in-game bonuses will be active on March 16, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time:

  • Players will receive three times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.
  • Players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • There will be twice the normal chance for players who have reached at least Level 31 in Pokemon Go to receive Candy XL when catching Pokemon.
  • Lure Modules will remain active for three hours if activated during this event.
  • Incense will remain active for three hours if activated during this event.
  • Players will be able to take Snapshots of Pokemon to receive additional Litten encounters.

Two additional in-game bonuses will be active on March 16, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time:

  • Players will be able to make one additional Special Trade.
  • Trades will cost 50 percent less Stardust to perform.

Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive Stardust, Great Balls, encounters with Litten, and other in-game rewards. Players will also be able to enter their Pokemon in Pokemon Showcases during this event.

Elsewhere, players will be able to collect event-themed stickers during this event by opening Gifts, spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops, and purchasing them in the in-game store.

Finally, players will have the option to spend PokeCoins and/or real money during this event to unlock additional in-game content. There will be four optional items available to purchase. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Players will have the option to spend $1 on a ticket in the in-game shop that will give them access to a Special Research storyline on Community Day.
  • Players will have the option to spend 480 PokeCoins on an item bundle in the in-game shop containing 30 Ultra Balls, an Incense, three Super Incubators, and a Lure Module.
  • Players will have the option to spend 1,350 PokeCoins on an item bundle in the in-game shop containing 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, an Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs.
  • Players will have the option to spend $9.99 on an Ultra Community Day Box on the Pokemon Go Web Store containing 120 Ultra Balls, 15 Silver Pinap Berries, six Incubators, and an Incense.

Following this Community Day event, Torracat will appear in Tier-4 Raids at Gyms from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time on March 16, 2024. When players defeat Torracat in one of these Raids, Litten will appear around the Gym that hosted the Raid for 30 minutes. You can learn more about these Tier-4 Torracat Raid battles on the Pokemon Go website.
