Pokemon Go: Watch Out for Shiny Goomy During June 2024 Community Day

The next Pokemon Go Community Day event will take place on June 9, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

During this event, Goomy will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Goomy.

Goomy is a Dragon-type Pokemon from the sixth generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, players can evolve Goomy into Sliggoo using 25 Goomy Candy and then evolve Sliggoo into Goodra using 100 Goomy Candy when it’s raining or when they’re near a PokeStop with an active Rainy Lure Module.

Each time players evolve Sliggo into Goodra during this event or during the five hours immediately following it, Goodra will learn the move thunder Punch.

While normal Goomy is purple, shiny Goomy has a yellow and peach coloring.

A variety of in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

• Players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
• Players will receive three times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.
• Players who have reached at least Level 31 in Pokemon Go will have an increased chance of receiving Candy XL when catching Pokemon during this event.
• Lure Modules will remain active for three hours when activated during this event.
• Incense will remain active for three hours when activated during this event.
• Players will be able to take Snapshots of Pokemon to receive additional Goomy encounters.

Two additional bonuses will be active from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time on June 9, 2024:

• Players will be able to make an extra Special Trade.
• Trades will cost 50 percent less Stardust to perform.

Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive Stardust, Great Balls, Goomy encounters, and other in-game rewards. Timed Research tasks will also be available during this event. When players complete this Timed Research, they’ll receive a Rainy Lure Module.

Elsewhere, players will be able to collect event-themed stickers during this event by spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them in the in-game store. Players will also be able to enter their Pokemon in PokeStop Showcases during this event.

Finally, players will have multiple optional ways to spend money during this event.

Specifically, players will have the option to spend $1 on a ticket that will give them access to a Special Research storyline on Community Day.

Players will also have the option to spend 1,350 PokeCoins on a Community Day bundle in the in-game shop containing 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, one Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs. They’ll also have the option to spend 480 PokeCoins on a Community Day bundle in the in-game shop containing 30 Ultra Balls, one Incense, three Super Incubators, and a Lure Module.

Lastly, players will have the option to spend $4.99 on an Ultra Community Day Box on the Pokemon Go Web Store containing 10 Ultra Balls, one Elite Charged TM, and the event’s Special Research story ticket.

Following this Community Day event, Sliggoo will appear in Tier-4 Raids from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time on June 9, 2024. When players defeat Sliggoo in one of these Raids, Goomy will appear around the Gym that hosted the Raid for 30 minutes.
