Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 2:22 pm

This event focuses on Buddy Pokemon.

The 2024 Sustainability Week event is coming soon to Pokemon Go!

The Sustainability Week event will run from April 22, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time until April 26, 2024 at 8 p.m. local time.

Three in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

  • Buddy Pokemon will bring players souvenirs and presents more frequently.
  • The player’s Buddy Pokemon will remain on the map for a longer period of time after being fed Berries or Poffins.
  • The required walking distance to earn hearts with Buddy Pokemon will be cut in half.

Combee, Drilbur, Trubbish, Foongus, and Binacle will have the chance to hatch from 2 km Eggs that are collected during this event. In addition, Pokemon hatched from 2 km Eggs that are collected during this event will have a greater chance of being Shiny than the Pokemon that are found in the wild or encountered after completing Field Research tasks.

Speaking of Field Research, players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with Combee, Drilbur, Trubbish, and Binacle. Players will also have the chance to encounter Foongus when completing these Field Research tasks, but the Pokemon Go website indicated Foongus will be rarer than the other featured Pokemon.

Finally, during this event, players will be able to complete Collection Challenges to receive experience points and Stardust. Players will also be able to enter Pokemon at Showcases during this event.
