Pokemon Go Scorching Steps Event: Shiny Larvesta, Egg Bonuses, and More

Players will have the chance to hatch Larvesta from Eggs that are collected during this event.

The Scorching Steps event is coming soon to Pokemon Go!

The Scorching Steps event will take place from June 21, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time until June 25, 2024 at 8 p.m. local time.

Once this event begins, Shiny Larvesta will become available to collect in Pokemon Go.

Four in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

  • Players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when hatching Eggs.
  • Eggs will hatch after walking half of the normal required distance when placed into Incubators during this event.
  • The first three Eggs players hatch during this event using the Pokemon Go Egg hatching widget will hatch after walking 1/4 of the normal required distance.
  • Players will have an increased chance of encountering and hatching Shiny Slugma and Shiny Litleo.

A variety of Pokemon will have the chance to hatch from Eggs that are collected during this event:

  • 2 km Eggs – Growlithe, Slugma, Houndour, Magby, and Larvesta
  • 5 km Eggs – Hisuian Growlithe, Darumaka, Litwick, Larvesta, and Litleo
  • 10 km Eggs – Larvesta, Turtonator, and Charcadet

Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with Slugma and Litleo. Players may also receive encounters with Turtonator after completing event-themed Field Research tasks, though the Pokemon Go website indicated Turtonator encounters will be rarer than encounters with the other two Pokemon.

Players will also be able to participate in PokeStop Showcases during this event.

Finally, players will be able to complete Timed Research tasks during this event to receive Stardust, experience points, and Pokemon encounters.
