Pokemon Go May 14, 2024 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, May 13th, 2024 4:18 pm

Players can earn extra experience points for a limited time.

The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on May 14, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this event, Abra will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when evolving Pokemon.

Abra is a Psychic-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Abra into Kadabra using 25 Abra Candy, and then evolve Kadabra into Alakazam using 100 Abra Candy. Kadabra can also be evolved into Alakazam without using Candy if the Pokemon has previously been traded.

Shiny Abra is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Abra is a paler shade of yellow than normal Abra.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Abra to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.

You can also activate a Lucky Egg to double the number of experience points you receive when completing in-game actions for a limited time. This Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of experience points for each Pokemon you evolve during this event.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, two more of these events are scheduled to take place in May 2024. Here’s the schedule:

  • May 21, 2024 – Elgyem will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.
  • May 28, 2024 – Mareanie will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.
