Pokemon Go July 4, 2023 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, July 3rd, 2023 2:29 pm

Players can collect extra Stardust for a limited time.

The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on July 4, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this event, Rufflet will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.

Rufflet is a Normal- and Flying-type Pokemon from the fifth generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Rufflet into Braviary using 50 Rufflet Candy.

Shiny Rufflet is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Rufflet is brown, rather than blue.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Rufflet to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.

In addition, you can activate a Star Piece to increase the amount of Stardust you receive for a limited time. This Star Piece bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of Stardust with each Pokemon you capture during this event.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, three more of these events are scheduled to take place in July 2023. Here’s the schedule:

  • July 11, 2023 – Wailmer will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon
  • July 18, 2023 – Rhyhorn will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon
  • July 25, 2023 – Yungoos will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when transferring Pokemon
