Pokemon Go July 11, 2023 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, July 10th, 2023 2:57 pm

Players can earn extra experience points for a limited time.

The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on July 11, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this event, Wailmer will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.

Wailmer is a Water-type Pokemon from the third generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Wailmer into Wailord using 400 Wailmer Candy.

Shiny Wailmer is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Wailmer is purple and cream, rather than blue and cream.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Wailmer to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.

Also remember that you can activate a Lucky Egg to double the number of experience points you earn when completing in-game actions for a limited time. This Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of experience points for each Pokemon you capture during this event.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, two more of these events are scheduled to take place in July 2023. Here’s the schedule:

  • July 18, 2023 – Rhyhorn will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • July 25, 2023 – Yungoos will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when transferring Pokemon.
