Players can earn extra Stardust for a limited time.

The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on August 8, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this event, Paras will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.

Paras is a Bug- and Grass-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Paras into Parasect using 50 Paras Candy.

Shiny Paras is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Paras is a darker orange color than normal Paras.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Paras to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.

You can also activate a Star Piece to earn more Stardust when you catch Pokemon for a limited time. This Star Piece bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of Stardust for each Pokemon you capture during this event.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, three more of these events are scheduled to take place in August 2023. Here’s the schedule:

  • August 15, 2023 – Stufful will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.
  • August 22, 2023 – Venonat will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • August 29, 2023 – Tentacool will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when transferring Pokemon.
