Pokemon Go April 4, 2023 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, April 3rd, 2023 3:18 pm

Players can earn bonus experience points for a limited time.

The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on April 4, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this event, Exeggcute will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.

Exeggcute is a Grass- and Psychic-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Exeggcute into Exeggutor using 50 Exeggcute Candy.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Exeggcute to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.

Also remember that you can activate a Lucky Egg to double the number of experience points you receive when completing in-game actions for a limited time. This Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of experience points for each Pokemon you capture during this event.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, three more of these events are scheduled to take place in April 2023. Here’s the schedule:

  • April 11, 2023 – Shellder (Players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when transferring Pokemon)
  • April 18, 2023 – Trapinch (Players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when evolving Pokemon)
  • April 25, 2023 – Tangela (Players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon)
