Littles can complete educational activities alongside The Smurfs.

RedDeer.Games recently released The Smurfs: Learn and Play on Nintendo Switch. The children’s game allows players to complete educational activities alongside The Smurfs characters.

In The Smurfs: Learn and Play, players can choose from four gameplay modes: Hide & Seek, Clock, ABC, and Shape Matching.

The Hide & Seek mode is similar to activities like “I Spy” and “Where’s Waldo?,” and ask players to find the required objects in cluttered scenes. Each scene has a different theme and will present players with a short story about the Smurfs’ lives.

The Clock mode allows players to read a Smurfs storybook that teaches them how to read the time on an analog clock and focuses on the various activities the Smurfs complete at different times during the day.

The ABC mode allows players to trace the letters of the alphabet in uppercase and lowercase, as well as trace the numbers 0-9. Players will receive a grade of 1-3 stars for each letter or number, depending on how quickly they trace it.

Finally, the Shape Matching mode has two mini-games to choose from: “Match Shapes” and “Speed Matching.”

The “Match Shapes” mini-game shows players a variety of silhouettes and challenges them to drag the matching image to each silhouette.

The “Speed Matching” mini-game, meanwhile, shows players a large silhouette and four images that could potentially match it. Players are challenged to press the button that corresponds to the correct matching image for each silhouette. This mini-game gives players 60 seconds to earn points by finding as many matching images as possible before time runs out.

The Smurfs: Learn and Play doesn’t feature full voice-acting, so players will need to know how to read to follow along with the stories in the Hide & Seek and Clock modes. Parents should also know we noticed some slight grammatical issues in the game’s text.

The Smurfs: Learn and Play is now available on Switch for $14.99 (the game is currently on sale for $4.99 until December 8, 2023 at 2:59 a.m. ET). The Smurfs: Learn and Play is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

Disclosure: SuperParent received a code for The Smurfs: Learn and Play for coverage purposes.
