Kick off the new year by capturing Pokemon wearing festive party hats!

Grab your walking shoes, Trainers. The Adventure Sync Hatchathon event is happening now in Pokemon Go, and it may inspire you to do a lot of walking to earn some in-game rewards.

The Adventure Sync Hatchathon event runs from now through January 16 at 1 p.m. PT. During this time, you’ll have the chance to hatch Pichu and Wurmple wearing special party hats from 2 km Eggs. Pichu wearing party hats will also be available to hatch from 7 km Eggs.

Elsewhere, Raticate and Wobbuffet wearing party hats will be available to challenge in Tier 2 Raids, and Pikachu wearing party hats will appear in the wild. Throughout this event, there’s also the chance you may run into shiny versions of Raticate, Pikachu, Pichu, Wobbuffet, and Wurmple, which are all wearing party hats.

For the duration of this event, you’ll earn two times the normal amount of Pokemon Candy and Stardust when hatching Pokemon from Eggs. Plus, if you walk a total of 50 km, you’ll receive 50,000 Stardust, 15 Rare Candies, and a Unova Stone as a special reward.

Finally, you can dress up your avatar in the new “2020 Specs.” This pair of glasses can be purchased for 160 PokeCoins in the in-game Style Shop.

As a reminder, the Adventure Sync Hatchathon isn’t the only event taking place in Pokemon Go this month. For instance, January’s Community Day event will take place on January 19.
