Pokemon Go Springtime Event: Flower Crown Buneary, Shiny Exeggcute, and More

Pokemon Go is getting ready to celebrate spring with a new in-game event.

From April 9 at 8 a.m. to April 16 at 10 p.m. local time, a variety of spring-themed bonuses and updates will be available in Pokemon Go. Here’s what you need to know:

• Exeggcute, Chansey, Mareep, Marill, and Torchic will appear more frequently in the wild.
• You’ll have the chance to encounter Shiny Exeggcute.
• Buneary wearing flower crowns will appear in the wild, and they will have the chance to be Shiny.
• Pikachu wearing flower hats (not crowns) will appear in the wild, and they will also have the chance to be Shiny.
• Pichu wearing flower crowns, Togepi wearing flower crowns, Happiny, Munchlax, Tyrogue, Chingling, and Riolu will hatch more frequently from 2 km Eggs that are collected during this event.
• Every Egg received from an in-game Gift during this event will be a 2 km Egg.
• You’ll earn two times the normal amount of Pokemon Candy when you hatch Pokemon.
• Lucky Eggs will last for one hour during this event.
• You’ll be able to collect and complete themed Field Research tasks that will reward you with encounters with Alolan Exeggutor, Azumarill, and Audino.
• A Togepi-themed hoodie and bag will be added to the in-game item shop.

It’s worth pointing out that none of these updates relate to Raids, which means you’ll be able to participate in this event without teaming up with other players. This is in keeping with the game’s recent changes and updates that have focused on solo gameplay in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Also keep in mind that the game is still allowing you to hatch Eggs after walking half of the normal required distance, so the 2 km Eggs you collect during this event will hatch after walking only 1 km (or less, if you use a Super Incubator). If you decide to take a walk outside to hatch these Eggs, make sure to follow the proper social distancing practices if you do come across other people.
