Pokemon Go: Snover and Genesect Makeup Events Planned for Certain Regions

Players in some time zones will have a second chance to participate in these events!

Pokemon Go hosts lots of limited time events, giving trainers around the world the chance to earn rewards like extra Stardust, bonus experience points, and encounters with fun Pokemon.

Recently, Pokemon Go experienced technical issues during two of these events — Snover Spotlight Hour and Genesect Raid Hour — which affected trainers in certain time zones. As a result, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, will hold “makeup events” for these regions to give affected players another chance to participate.

First, a makeup Genesect Raid Hour event will be held on January 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time in the GMT -3, -4, and -5 time zones (locations in the U.S., Canada, and South America, among others). During this event, Genesect holding a Burn Drive will appear more frequently than normal in Raids.

Next, a Snover Spotlight Hour makeup event will be held on January 11 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time in the GMT +11, +12, and +13 time zones (areas in Australia, Russia, and New Zealand, among others). During this event, Snover will appear more frequently than normal in the wild. In addition, three bonuses will be in effect during this hour: double catch experience points, double Lucky Egg duration, and double evolution experience points.

We’ll make sure to let you know if any additional makeup events are announced for players in Pokemon Go.
