Pokemon Go Sinnoh Event: Shiny Hippopotas, Shiny Riolu, and More

Trainers, act fast! The game's Sinnoh celebration will only last a few days.

Earlier this month, we learned that a Sinnoh celebration event was coming soon to Pokemon Go, and now it’s finally here!

From February 7 at 8 a.m. to February 10 at 10 p.m. local time, Pokemon from the Sinnoh region of the Pokemon universe (Gen IV) will appear more frequently in the wild and in Raids.

In a news post, Pokemon Go’s developer, Niantic, said all 7km Eggs collected during this event will be guaranteed to hatch “certain Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, including Budew, Combee, Bronzor, Gible, Riolu, Hippopotas, and Mantyke.” Plus, you’ll have the chance to hatch Shiny Riolu or Shiny Hippopotas.

Elsewhere, special Field Research tasks will be available to collect during this event, which will give you Sinnoh Stones or encounters with Pokemon from the Sinnoh region when they’re turned in.

Finally, if you activate a Glacial, Mossy, or Magnetic Lure Module during this event, it will remain active for one hour, rather than 30 minutes. And, each time you open a Gift during this Sinnoh event, you will have the chance to receive two 7km Eggs so long as you have room in your Egg inventory to hold them (as a reminder, you can hold a maximum of nine Eggs at once).
