Pokemon Go: Shiny Seviper, Shiny Zangoose, and More Are Here for World Tourism Day

In celebration of World Tourism Day on September 27, Pokemon Go creator, Niantic, has teamed up with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to launch a World Tourism Day event in Pokemon Go!

This event will kick off on September 26 at 1 p.m. PT, and it comes with two sets of releases: things that will be available even after the event ends, and things that will be available for a limited time.

To start, here’s what’s going on for a limited time.

From September 26 at 1 p.m. PT to October 1 at 1 p.m. PT, Pokemon trades will cost 25 percent less Stardust than they normally would. You’ll also earn twice the normal amount of experience points when you visit PokeStops that you’ve never visited before during this event window. Finally, you’ll be able to collect some themed Field Research Tasks during this short event.

As for the other updates, here’s everything that will be added / will begin on September 26 at 1 p.m. PT, with no announced end date.

• A UNWTO avatar t-shirt will be added to the game’s Style Shop
• Shiny Zangoose and Shiny Seviper will begin appearing in their normal real-world areas (Zangoose and Seviper are geo-locked pocket monsters)
• Mime Jr. will begin hatching from 5km Eggs in Europe (There’s a chance you may hatch a Shiny Mime Jr., too)
• The following geo-locked creatures will begin appearing in 5km Eggs in their normal regions: Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Tauros, Heracross, Corsola, Volbeat, Illumise, Torkoal, Zangoose, Seviper, Lunatone, Solrock, Tropius, Relicanth, Pachirisu, Chatot, Pansage, Pansear, Panpour, Heatmor, and Durant
