Pokemon Go September 8 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, September 8th, 2020 7:43 am

Collect tons of Candy in this week's event!

Trainers, the second Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour for September 2020 is almost here!

On September 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Houndour will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Pokemon Candy when you capture Pokemon. This bonus Pokemon Candy will apply to every Pokemon you capture during this event, and not just Houdour.

Houndour has a single evolution. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Houndour into Houndoom using 50 Houndour Candy.

Even if you already have both of these Pokemon in your collection, remember that the Shiny version of Houndour is also available to encounter in Pokemon Go. While there’s no guarantee you’ll run into one during this Spotlight Hour event, you will be able to check lots of Houndour in a short amount of time, so your chances of finding one will technically be increased.

If you want to make the most of this week’s event, remember to toss Pinap Berries at Pokemon before you capture them. That way, you’ll earn double the amount of Pokemon Candy for capturing them!

Following this week’s Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour, three more of these events will take place during the rest of September. On September 15, Tentacool will be the featured Pokemon, while the event on September 22 will feature Spearow. Finally, on September 29, Skitty will have its time in the spotlight.
