Pokemon Go September 5, 2023 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, September 4th, 2023 3:05 pm

Players can receive extra experience points for a limited time.

The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on September 5, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this event, Wooper will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when evolving Pokemon.

Wooper is a Water- and Ground-type Pokemon from the second generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Wooper into Quagsire using 50 Wooper Candy.

Shiny Wooper is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Wooper is pink, rather than blue.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Wooper to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.

You can also activate a Lucky Egg to double the number of experience points you receive when completing in-game actions for a limited time. This Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of experience points for each Pokemon you evolve during this event.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, three more of these events are scheduled to take place in the month of September 2023. Here’s the schedule:

  • September 12, 2023 – Mankey will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • September 19, 2023 – Girafarig will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.
  • September 26, 2023 – Growlithe will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.
