Mark your calendars!

As spotted by Leek Duck, the next Pokemon Go Community Day Classic event will take place on September 2, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

During this event, Charmander will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Charmander.

Charmander is a Fire-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Charmander into Charmeleon using 25 Charmander Candy, and then evolve Charmeleon into Charizard using 100 Charmander Candy.

Each time Charmeleon is evolved into Charizard during this event or during the two hours immediately following it, it will learn the moves Dragon Breath and Blast Burn.

Four in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

  • Players will receive three times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.
  • Lure Modules will remain active for three hours if activated during this event.
  • Incense will remain active for three hours if activated during this event.
  • Players will be able to take Snapshots of Pokemon to receive additional encounters with Charmander.

During this Community Day Classic event, players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks to receive encounters with Charmander, Stardust, Great Balls, Charizard Mega Energy, and other in-game rewards.

Players will also be able to complete Timed Research tasks to receive Charizard Mega Energy and experience points.

During this event, Showcases will be available at PokeStops.

Finally, players will have the option to spend $1 on a Special Research storyline that will be available during this Community Day Classic event. Players will have the option to purchase this ticket for themselves, and they’ll also have the option to purchase this ticket for their in-game friends.
