Pokemon Go October 13 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 8:29 am

Pikachu is back, but it's wearing a different hat!

Trainers, the next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event is set to take place on October 13.

On October 13 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Pikachu wearing Ash’s “Original Cap” will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon. This Pokemon Candy bonus will apply to all pocket monsters you catch during this event, and not just Original Cap Pikachu.

To make the most of this event, remember to toss Pinap Berries at Pokemon before you capture them. By default, you’ll earn six Candy for each Pokemon you capture during this event, but if you use a Pinap Berry, you’ll earn 12 Candy instead.

Here are two more things to keep in mind about this week’s event: Unlike many recently released costumed Pokemon, Original Cap Pikachu can be evolved into Original Cap Raichu. In addition, this isn’t the first time Original Cap Pikachu has been available in Pokemon Go, so if it looks familiar, you might already have it in your collection.

Following this week’s Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour, there are still two more Spotlight Hour events to look forward to in October. On October 20, Shuppet will be the featured Pokemon, while Duskull will be the star of the Spotlight Hour event on October 27.
