Pokemon Go Noxious Swamp Event: Shiny Skrelp, Turtonator, and More

As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, announced that a Noxious Swamp event is coming soon to Pokemon Go!

The Noxious Swamp event will run from August 19, 2023 at 10 a.m. local time until August 22, 2023 at 8 p.m. local time.

Once this event begins, Shiny Skrelp will become available to collect in Pokemon Go.

During this event, Zubat, Venonat, Tentacool, Dratini, Surskit, Gulpin, Skorupi, Axew, Skrelp, Tyrunt, and Noibat will appear more frequently than normal in the wild.

Three in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

  • Players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • Team Go Rocket balloons will appear more frequently than normal.
  • Players will be able to receive one extra free Raid Pass by spinning a Photo Disc at a Gym.

A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Grimer, Alolan Grimer, Hisuian Qwilfish, and Hisuian Sneasel
  • Tier-3 Raids – Galarian Weezing, Druddigon, and Turtonator
  • Shadow Tier-1 Raids – Shadow Zubat, Shadow Houndour, and Shadow Pidove
  • Shadow Tier-3 Raids – Shadow Nidoran♀, Shadow Onix, and Shadow Sneasel

Players will be able to complete Field Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with Grimer, Dratini, Trapinch, Skrelp, Noibat, and Mareanie.

Finally, players will be able to complete Timed Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with Poison- and Dragon-type Pokemon, including Jangmo-o.
