Pokemon Go November 17 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, November 17th, 2020 7:40 am

Here's your chance to stock up on extra Pokemon Candy.

Trainers, if you’re in need of some extra Pokemon Candy in Pokemon Go, this week’s Spotlight Hour event is for you!

On November 17 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Meowth will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Pokemon Candy when you capture Pokemon.

Meowth is a Normal-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Meowth into Persian using 50 Meowth Candy.

If you want to make the most of this event, remember to toss Pinap Berries at Pokemon before you capture them. That way, you’ll earn 12 Pokemon Candy per catch, rather than six.

Plus, keep in mind that Shiny Meowth is available in Pokemon Go. If you’ve yet to add this Shiny Pokemon to your collection, you’ll be able to check lots of Meowth in a short amount of time during this Spotlight Hour event, so your chances of finding one will technically be increased.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there’s only one more of these events to look forward to in November. On November 24, Barboach will be the featured Pokemon, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Pokemon Candy when you transfer pocket monsters to Professor Willow.
