Pokemon Go May 19 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, May 19th, 2020 7:49 am

Here's your chance to stock up on Pokemon Candy!

Trainers, the next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event is set to take place on May 19!

From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on May 19, Poochyena will appear more frequently in the wild, and you’ll also earn twice the normal amount of Pokemon Candy when capturing Pokemon (all Pokemon — not just Poochyena).

This is a great opportunity to stock up on Pokemon Candy for Poochyena and any other pocket monsters you come across. By default, during this event, you’ll earn six Pokemon Candy for each creature you capture, rather than three. However, you can boost this even more by using a Pinap Berry on a Pokemon before you capture it. This will allow you to earn a whopping 12 Pokemon Candy when you capture the Pokemon, instead of six!

Following this week’s event, there’s only one more Pokemon Spotlight Hour left to look forward to in May. During the Spotlight Hour event on May 26, Bronzor will appear more frequently in the wild, and you’ll also earn twice the normal amount of Candy when transferring Pokemon to the professor.

If you have enough Pokemon storage space on your account, you can save any unwanted Pokemon you collect this week and transfer them next week to earn even more Candy for those species.

Have fun!
