Pokemon Go May 11 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Take advantage of some great in-game bonuses!

Trainers, the next Spotlight Hour event in Pokemon Go is an exciting one!

On May 11 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Dratini will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two Pokemon Candy for each Pokemon you transfer to Professor Willow, instead of one.

Dratini is a Dragon-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Dratini into Dragonair using 25 Dratini Candy, and then evolve Dragonair into Dragonite using 100 Dratini Candy.

Shiny Dratini is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Dratini is pink, rather than blue.

This week’s Spotlight Hour event is pretty special, since two separate in-game bonuses are also in effect this week. First, from May 11 at 10 a.m. local time until May 17 at 8 p.m. local time, players will earn three times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.

Second, when players evolve Dragonair into Dragonite between now and May 17 at 8 p.m. local time, it will learn the battle move Draco Meteor.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate a Lucky Egg to earn double the experience points for completing in-game actions for 30 minutes. You can also activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Dratini to capture, allowing you to stock up on Dratini Candy and earn lots of bonus experience points!

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are still two more of these events to come in May 2021. Alolan Rattata will be the featured Pokemon on May 18, while Marill will be the star of the Spotlight Hour event on May 25.
