Pokemon Go March 9 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 7:05 am

Now's the time to evolve some Pokemon.

Trainers, the next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on March 9.

During this event, Drowzee will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of experience points when evolving Pokemon. This experience point bonus will apply to every Pokemon you evolve during this one-hour event, and not just Drowzee.

Drowzee is a Psychic-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Drowzee into Hypno using 50 Drowzee Candy. Also keep in mind that Drowzee can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. Shiny Drowzee is a pale pink color, rather than yellow.

If you want to make the most of this week’s event, remember to activate an Incense to cause more wild Pokemon to appear near your current location for a limited time. You may also want to take a peek at your Pokemon collection to see if there are any Pokemon you can evolve in order to earn those bonus experience points.

Following this week’s event, there are three more Spotlight Hours scheduled in March. On March 16, Voltorb will be the featured Pokemon, while Surskit will be in the spotlight on March 23. Finally, Slugma will be the featured Pokemon during the Spotlight Hour event on March 30.
