Pokemon Go March 30 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 6:43 am

Don't get burned!

March is almost over, but there’s still one more Spotlight Hour event to look forward to in Pokemon Go.

On March 30 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Slugma will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon. This Pokemon Candy bonus will apply to every Pokemon you capture during this one-hour event, and not just Slugma.

Slugma is a Fire-type Pokemon from the second generation of the Pokemon universe. It has a single evolution. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Slugma into Magcargo using 50 Slugma Candy.

As of this writing, Shiny Slugma isn’t available in Pokemon Go.

To make the most of this week’s event, remember to toss Pinap Berries at Pokemon before catching them. This will allow you to earn 12 Pokemon Candy for each Pokemon you capture, rather than six. Also remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Pokemon to capture, and more opportunities to stock up on Pokemon Candy!
