Pokemon Go March 2 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 7:30 am

Earn extra Pokemon Candy for a limited time!

Trainers, Pokemon Go’s first Spotlight Hour event in March 2021 will take place on March 2 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this one-hour event, Krabby will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two Pokemon Candy (instead of one) each time you transfer a Pokemon to Professor Willow.

Krabby is a Water-type Pokemon from the first Generation of the Pokemon universe. It has a single evolution. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Krabby into Kingler using 50 Krabby Candy.

If you’re a Shiny Pokemon collector, keep in mind that Krabby can be Shiny. While regular Krabby is orange, Shiny Krabby is a light yellow-green color.

To make the most of this week’s event, remember to activate an Incense in order to attract more wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. You can also activate other bonuses, like a Star Piece or Lucky Egg, to increase the Stardust and experience points you earn with each catch during this event, respectively.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are four more of these events to look forward to in March. Here’s the schedule:

  • March 9 – Drowzee
  • March 16 – Voltorb
  • March 23 – Surskit
  • March 30 – Slugma
