Pokemon Go June 9 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 6:57 am

Patrat is the star of this week's event.

Trainers, the first Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event in June is set to take place on June 9 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this one-hour event, Patrat will appear more frequently in the wild, and you’ll also earn two times the normal amount of experience points when you evolve Pokemon. To be clear, you’ll earn the bonus experience points when you evolve any Pokemon, and not just Patrat.

Patrat is a Normal-type Pokemon from Generation V of the Pokemon universe. It has a single evolution. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Patrat into Watchog using 50 Patrat Candy.

If you want to make the most of this event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for 60 minutes. While there’s no guarantee that all of the Pokemon you’ll attract will be Patrat, using an Incense will allow you to run into lots of Pokemon really quickly even without leaving the house.

In addition, keep in mind that a Shiny version of Patrat already exists in Pokemon Go. Even if you’ve already added Patrat and Watchog to your in-game Pokedex, this week’s event may still be worth playing since it may increase your chances of running into this rare Shiny pocket monster.

June 9’s Pokemon Spotlight Hour is the first of four Spotlight Hour events that will take place this month. The other three events are scheduled for June 16 (Numel), June 23 (Celfairy), and June 30 (Kricketot). Make sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on any of these fun events!
