Pokemon Go June 8 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, June 7th, 2021 7:08 am

Stock up on Pokemon Candy!

Trainers, the next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on June 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this event, Abra will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.

Abra is a Psychic-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Abra into Kadabra using 25 Abra Candy, and then evolve Kadabra into Alakazam using 100 Abra Candy. Kadabra can also be evolved into Alakazam without using any Candy if Kadabra has been traded.

Shiny Abra is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Abra has paler colors than regular Abra.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Abra to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one. Plus, you can toss Pinap Berries at Pokemon before you capture them in order to earn even more Pokemon Candy.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are still three more of these events scheduled to take place in June 2021. On June 15, Slowpoke will be the featured Pokemon, while Swinub will be featured on June 22. Finally, Aipom will be featured during the Spotlight Hour event on June 29.
