Pokemon Go June 2022: Mewtwo Raids, Adventure Week, and More

Update (06/09/2022): Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed that Pikachu wearing a Pokemon TCG hat will be the featured Pokemon during the Spotlight Hour event on June 28, 2022. During this event, players will receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.

It’s almost a new month, which means there are lots of new events and updates coming to Pokemon Go.

Here’s a look at some of the events and updates that are coming to Pokemon Go in June 2022:

Research Breakthrough Encounters

From June 1 at 1 p.m. PT until July 1 at 1 p.m. PT, players will receive an encounter with Klink each time they achieve a Research Breakthrough. As a reminder, players achieve a Research Breakthrough each time they complete at least one Field Research task on seven separate days (it doesn’t have to be seven days in a row).

Tier-5 Raids

Three Pokemon will appear in Tier-5 Raids in the month of June. Here’s the schedule:

• June 1 at 10 a.m. local time until June 7 at 10 a.m. local time – Kyogre
• June 7 at 10 a.m. local time until June 16 at 10 a.m. local time – Groudon
• June 16 at 10 a.m. local time until June 23 at 10 a.m. local time – Mewtwo (Mewtwo caught during this time will know the move Shadow Ball)
• June 23 at 10 a.m. local time until July 1 at 10 a.m. local time – Mewtwo (Mewtwo caught during this time will know the move Psystrike)

Mega Raids

Four Pokemon will appear in Mega Raids in June 2022:

• June 1 at 10 a.m. local time until June 7 at 10 a.m. local time – Mega Steelix
• June 7 at 10 a.m. local time until June 16 at 10 a.m. local time – Mega Aerodactyl
• June 16 at 10 a.m. local time until June 23 at 10 a.m. local time – Mega Venusaur
• June 23 at 10 a.m. local time until July 1 at 10 a.m. local time – Mega Blastoise

Weekly Raid Hour Events

A Raid Hour event will take place each Wednesday in June from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Here are the Pokemon that will be featured during each Raid Hour event:

• June 1 – Kyogre
• June 8 – Groudon
• June 15 – Groudon
• June 22 – Mewtwo (Mewtwo caught during this time will know the move Shadow Ball)
• June 29 – Mewtwo (Mewtwo caught during this time will know the move Psystrike)

Spotlight Hour Events

A Spotlight Hour event will take place each Tuesday in June from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Here are the Pokemon and bonuses that will be featured during these events:

• June 7 – Nosepass will be the featured Pokemon, and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon
• June 14 – Mantine will be the featured Pokemon, and players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when transferring Pokemon to Professor Willow
• June 21 – Spinarak will be the featured Pokemon, and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when evolving Pokemon
• June 28 – As of this writing, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, hasn’t revealed the Pokemon or in-game bonus that will be featured during the Spotlight Hour event on June 28

Limited-Time Events

Multiple limited-time events will take place in June 2022. Here’s the schedule:

Pokemon Go Fest 2022 –  Pokemon Go Fest 2022 will take place on June 4 and June 5. You can learn more about the event in our previous coverage.

Adventure Week – This event will run from June 7 to June 12.

Pokemon TCG Crossover Event – This event will run from June 16 to June 30.
