Pokemon Go July 20 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, July 19th, 2021 7:49 am

Add some Squirtle to your squad.

Trainers, another Spotlight Hour event is coming soon to Pokemon Go!

On July 20 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Squirtle will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two Pokemon Candy for every Pokemon you transfer to Professor Willow, instead of one.

Squirtle is a Water-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. It has two evolutions. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Squirtle into Wartortle using 25 Squirtle Candy, and then evolve Wartortle into Blastoise using 100 Squirtle Candy.

Shiny Squirtle is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Squirtle is a paler blue color than normal Squirtle. Shiny Squirtle also has a green shell, while normal Squirtle has a brown shell.

To make the most of this event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Squirtle to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.

Plus, if you’re still holding on to any unnecessary Pokemon from Pokemon Go Fest 2021, you can transfer them to Professor Willow during this Spotlight Hour event to earn more Pokemon Candy than you normally would.

Following this week’s event, there’s still one more Spotlight Hour scheduled to take place in July 2021. The Spotlight Hour event on July 27 will feature Natu.
