Pokemon Go July 14 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, July 21st, 2020 6:15 am

There's nothing odd about this week's event.

Trainers, the next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event is nearly here!

On July 21 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Oddish will appear more frequently in the wild, and you’ll receive twice the normal amount of Stardust when you capture Pokemon. This bonus Stardust will apply to every Pokemon you capture during this event, and not just Oddish.

Oddish is a Grass- and Poison-type Pokemon from the first Generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, Oddish can be evolved into Gloom using 25 Oddish Candy, and then Gloom can be evolved into either Vileplume or Bellossom.

Specifically, you can evolve Gloom into Vileplume using 100 Oddish Candy, or you can evolve Gloom into Bellossom using 100 Oddish Candy and a Sun Stone.

Keep in mind that a rare Shiny version of Oddish has already been released in Pokemon Go. If you’ve yet to add this version of Oddish to your collection, this week’s Spotlight Hour event will give you many opportunities to potentially find it. Plus, you can make the most of this week’s event by activating a Star Piece, which will cause you to earn 50 percent more Stardust for 30 minutes.

Following this week’s event, there’s still one more Spotlight Hour to look forward to in July. On July 28, Buizel will be the star of the Spotlight Hour event, and you’ll earn two times the normal amount of experience points when capturing Pokemon during that one-hour window.
