Pokemon Go February 18 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 7:18 am

Get ready, trainers. A special one-hour event is happening soon.

At the beginning of February 2020, Niantic, Pokemon Go’s developer, revealed a new experimental event called the “Pokemon Spotlight Hour” that would be taking place on February 4.

During this Pokemon Spotlight Hour event, Onix appeared more frequently in the wild for a very limited time (only 60 minutes).

Since then, this event has turned into a weekly occurrence. The February 11 event featured Spoink, and now a third event will take place on Tuesday, February 18.

As reported by Eurogamer, this week’s event will work differently than the previous two. Instead of focusing on a specific Pokemon, the February 18 Pokemon Spotlight Hour will simply cause more Pokemon to spawn than normal for a limited time.

The February 18 event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, so we don’t have much time to prepare.

To make the most of this event, we recommend visiting places that have lots of PokeStops in a small area. In theory, these areas already have lots of spawns on a normal day (when compared to other locations), so this event should increase those spawns even more.

Which Pokemon are you hoping to catch during this week’s Spotlight Hour? Let us know in the comments, or tweet us at @superparenthq.
