There's so much to look forward to!

Trainers, the 2021 Fashion Week event is about to kick off in Pokemon Go!

The 2021 Fashion Week event will run from September 21 at 10 a.m. local time until September 28 at 8 p.m. local time.

During this event, players will have the chance to encounter costumed versions of Butterfree, Sneasel, Blitzle, Smoochum, Kirlia, Shinx, and Croagunk. Costumed versions of Blitzle, Kirlia, Butterfree, and Croagunk will have the chance to appear in the wild, while costumed versions of Sneasel and Shinx will appear in Tier-1 Raids. Finally, costumed Butterfree and Kirlia will appear in Tier-3 Raids during this event.

Players will also have the chance to encounter costumed versions of Shiny Butterfree, Shiny Sneasel, Shiny Smoochum, Shiny Kirlia, Shiny Shinx, Shiny Croagunk, and Shiny Blitzle. Non-costumed Shiny Blitzle will become available in Pokemon Go after this Fashion Week event ends, though, in a news post, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, said “you won’t see Blitzle in the wild very often.”

Next, Alolan Meowth, Galarian Meowth, costumed Smoochum, and costumed Shinx will have the chance to hatch from 7 km Eggs that are collected during the Fashion Week festivities.

Once this event begins, players will be able to complete a new series of Special Research tasks to earn an encounter with Meloetta. If you already accessed the Special Research that allowed you to collect Meloetta during the 2021 Pokemon Go Fest event, this Fashion Week Special Research will reward you with Meloetta Candy instead.

Elsewhere, Niantic said, “Fashionable Trainers with fashionable Pokémon and more will be appearing at PokéStops throughout the event.” Players will be able to battle these Trainers to receive in-game rewards.

New Timed Research tasks will also be available to complete during the Fashion Week event, and once the event begins, the next portion of the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research storyline will become available.

Players will be able to earn a Furfrou Wig for their avatar by completing this event’s Timed Research tasks. This Furfrou Wig will also be available to purchase in the in-game shop beginning on September 29 at 1 p.m. PT.

Starting September 20 at 1 p.m. PT, Fashion Week avatar items, like Hoopa Bangles, will become available to purchase in the in-game store. Plus, some avatar items will be on sale for a limited time as part of this event.

Finally, when this event begins, Furfrou will make its debut in Pokemon Go. Players will be able to encounter this Pokemon in the wild.

Furfrou will have many different Forms, or “Trims” to choose from. When players catch Furfrou in the wild, it will be in its Natural Form. Then, they’ll have the option to switch Furfrou to a different Trim based on their real-world location.

Niantic shared a list of Furfrou’s Trims and the areas where each one will be available:

  • “Natural Form: Available in the wild globally
  • Matron Trim: Available as a form change globally
  • Dandy Trim: Available as a form change globally
  • Debutante Trim: Available as a form change in the Americas
  • Diamond Trim: Available as a form change in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
  • Star Trim: Available as a form change in the Asia-Pacific
  • La Reine Trim: Available as a form change in France
  • Kabuki Trim: Available as a form change in Japan
  • Pharaoh Trim: Available as a Form change in Egypt
  • Heart Trim: Stay tuned!”

Players will be able to change Furfrou to a different Trim through the game’s new “form-change mechanic.” Specifically, this feature will allow players to change certain Pokemon to different forms. For Furfrou, players will be able to change Furfrou’s form to one of its available Trims using 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
