Pokemon Go December 8 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 8:44 am

Stock up on Stardust!

Trainers, the next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event in December 2020 will take place on December 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this one-hour event, Swinub will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Stardust for each Pokemon you catch. This Stardust bonus will apply to every Pokemon you capture during this event, and not just Swinub.

Swinub is an Ice- and Ground-type Pokemon from the second generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Swinub into Piloswine using 25 Swinub Candy, and then evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine using 100 Swinub Candy and a Sinnoh Stone.

Remember, Swinub is one of the many Pokemon that will be featured in December 2020’s Pokemon Go Community Day event. While you’re free to evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine at any time (so long as you have the Candy and the Sinnoh Stone), you may want to consider waiting to evolve this pocket monster until the Community Day event. If you evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine during December’s Community Day festivities, it will learn the exclusive battle move Ancient Power. (Click here to see all of the exclusive moves that will be available during December’s Community Day event.)

If you want to make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour, remember to activate a Star Piece on your account. This will allow you to earn 50 percent more Stardust for 30 minutes, so you can really stock up on this important currency in a short amount of time!

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are still three more of these events to look forward to in December. On December 15, Explorer Pikachu will be the featured Pokemon, while the Spotlight Hour event on December 22 will star Snorunt. Finally, the Spotlight Hour event on December 29 will feature Snover.
