Pokemon Go Celebi Research Tasks: A SuperParent Guide

Monday, August 20th, 2018 1:13 pm

Get ready to go on a new adventure to earn the Time Travel Pokemon.

Through a series of exclusive Special Research tasks, Pokemon Go players who attended Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago in July 2018 were the first to get their hands on the mythical Pokemon Celebi.

Now, all players can earn Celebi by completing a new storyline of Special Research tasks called “A Ripple in Time.” There are eight parts in this new storyline, each with different tasks to complete.

Celebi is the second mythical Pokemon to be released in Pokemon Go, following Mew’s debut earlier this year. If you’ve yet to complete the Mew storyline, “A Mythical Discovery,” don’t worry — once you’ve completed the third stage in Mew’s story, you can begin completing Celebi’s quests and work on both storylines at your leisure.

Here’s a look at each of the eight stages in the “A Ripple in Time” series, and the rewards you’ll receive for completing them.

Keep in mind, if you’re one of the lucky players who grabbed Celebi during Pokemon Go Fest, completing these quests will reward you with Celebi Candy you can use to make your Celebi stronger; you won’t receive a second Celebi.

A Ripple in Time Part 2

  • Make 3 New Friends
  • Evolve an Evolved Grass-Type Pokemon*
  • Catch a Pokemon 3 Days in a Row

Rewards: 1,500 experience points for each completed task; 1,500 Stardust, 1 Sun Stone, and 1 Premium Raid Pass when all three tasks are finished

*For this step, you’ll need to evolve a Grass-type Pokemon that’s already been evolved. For instance, you can evolve a Gloom (the evolved form of Oddish) into a Vileplume to complete this step. If you want to quickly see all of the Grass-type Pokemon you own, go into your Pokemon storage, tap the magnifying glass near the top-right corner of the screen, and then type “Grass.”
