Pokemon Go August 2, 2022 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, August 1st, 2022 7:58 am

Players can earn more Stardust for a limited time.

The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event is scheduled to take place on August 2, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

During this event, Hisuian Voltorb will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and players will receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon.

Hisuian Voltorb is an Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon that was discovered in the Hisui region of the Pokemon universe. The Hisui region is the setting in the Pokemon Legends: Arceus video game on Nintendo Switch. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Hisuian Voltorb into Hisuian Electrode using 50 Voltorb Candy.

As of this writing, Shiny Hisuian Voltorb is not available in Pokemon Go.

To make the most of this week’s event, remember that you can activate a Star Piece to earn 50 percent more Stardust for a limited time. This Star Piece bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of Stardust for each Pokemon you capture during this event.

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, four more of these events are scheduled to take place in August 2022. Here’s the schedule:

  • August 9 – Nidoran♀
  • August 16 – Joltik
  • August 23 – Nidoran♂
  • August 30 – Pidove
