Grab your bug net!

Trainers, the next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event is scheduled to take place on August 18!

On August 18 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, the Bug- and Poison-type Pokemon Venipede will appear more often than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive twice the normal amount of experience points when you evolve Pokemon. This experience point bonus will apply to all Pokemon you evolve during this one-hour event, and not just Venipede.

Venipede has two evolutions. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Venipede into Whirlipede using 25 Venipede Candy, and then evolve Whirlipede into Scolipede using 100 Venipede Candy.

If you want to make the most of this event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your current location. This will allow you to participate in this event even if you don’t want to leave the house.

Following this week’s Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event, there’s only one more of these events to look forward to in August. On August 25, Geodude will be the featured Pokemon, and you’ll earn two times the normal amount of Stardust when you capture Pokemon.
