A regional Pokemon is being featured!
The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour is scheduled to take place on August 17 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
During this event, West Sea Shellos will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
Shellos is a regional Pokemon in Pokemon Go. It also comes in two forms: East Sea Shellos and West Sea Shellos. These different forms will only appear in certain areas around the world. East Sea Shellos is green and blue, while West Sea Shellos is pink and white.
In Pokemon Go, you can evolve West Sea Shellos into West Sea Gastrodon using 50 Shellos Candy.
As of this writing, Shiny West Sea Shellos is not available in Pokemon Go.
To make the most of this week’s event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Pokemon to encounter, and more chances to stock up on Pokemon Candy.
Plus, remember that you can toss Pinap Berries at Pokemon to double the number of Pokemon Candy you receive when you catch them. This Pinap Berry bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to collect tons of Pokemon Candy in a short amount of time.
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are two more of these events scheduled to take place in August 2021, but Pokemon Go’s developer, Niantic, hasn’t announced which Pokemon will be featured during these events just yet. Keep checking back with SuperParent, as we’ll make sure to let you know which Pokemon will be featured once we know more!
