Pokemon Go April 20 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Monday, April 19th, 2021 7:23 am

Bring on the Stardust!

Trainers, another Spotlight Hour event is right around the corner in Pokemon Go!

On April 20 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Grimer will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon. This Stardust bonus will apply to every Pokemon you capture during this one-hour event, and not just Grimer.

Grimer is a Poison-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Grimer into Muk using 50 Grimer Candy.

Grimer can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. Shiny Grimer is green, rather than purple.

To make the most of this week’s Spotlight Hour event, remember that you can activate a Star Piece to earn 50 percent more Stardust for 30 minutes. This bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of extra Stardust during this event. Also remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Pokemon to capture and therefore more chances to earn bonus Stardust!

Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there’s still one more of these events scheduled to take place in April. On April 27, Finneon will appear more frequently than normal, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.
