Earlier this month, we learned about a new ticketed event that was coming soon to Pokemon Go, which would allow players to have their first encounter with the Mythical Pokemon Genesect. And now, the event is live!
If you want to participate, you’ll need to purchase a ticket to the event in the in-game store. The ticket costs $7.99, and it can only be purchased with real money, not PokeCoins.
Once you purchase the ticket, you’ll receive access to a new series of Special Research tasks in a storyline called “A Drive to Investigate.” Our guide will show you what these tasks ask you to do.
Before we begin though, we want to make it especially clear that you aren’t required to buy a ticket to keep playing Pokemon Go. While players who purchase the ticket will have a chance to encounter Genesect before those who don’t buy one, this Mythical Pokemon will eventually be added to the game for everyone to encounter through EX Raids.
A Drive to Investigate Part 1
Rewards: 1,000 Stardust for completing the first task, 3 Rare Candy for completing the second task, and an encounter with Trubbish for completing the third task; 5 Premium Battle Passes, an encounter with Pinsir, and a Genesect Cap for your avatar when all three tasks are completed
A Drive to Investigate Part 2
Rewards: 1,000 Stardust for completing the first task, 3 Rare Candy for completing the second task, and an encounter with Karrablast for completing the third task; 3 Charged TMs, an encounter with Skarmory, and 3 Super Incubators when all three tasks are completed
A Drive to Investigate Part 3
Rewards: 1,000 Stardust for completing the first task, 3 Rare Candy for completing the second task, and an encounter with Shelmet for completing the third task; 3 Incense, an encounter with Scizor, and a Genesect Bag for your avatar when all three tasks are completed
A Drive to Investigate Part 4
Rewards: 1,000 Stardust for completing the first task, 3 Rare Candy for completing the second task, and an encounter with Kabuto for completing the third task; 3 Fast TMs, an encounter with Genesect, and a Glacial Lure Module when all three tasks are completed
A Drive to Investigate Part 5
Rewards: 1,000 Stardust for completing the first task, 3 Rare Candy for completing the second task, and an encounter with Durant for completing the third task; 1 Poffin, 10 Genesect Candy, and 3 Star Pieces when all three tasks are completed
