Players will have the chance to collect extra Candy XL.

The 2024 Carnival of Love event is coming soon to Pokemon Go

The Carnival of Love event will run from February 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time until February 15, 2024 at 8 p.m. local time.

Once this event begins, Shiny Oricorio will become available to encounter in Pokemon Go.

During this event, Snubbull, Skitty, Luvdisc, Furfrou, Stufful, and Quaxly will appear more frequently than normal in the wild. Roselia, White Flower Flabebe and Orange Flower Flabebe will also have the chance to appear in the wild, though the Pokemon Go website indicated they’ll be rarer than the other featured Pokemon.

Baile Style Oricorio, Pom-Pom Style Oricorio, Pa’u Style Oricorio, Sensu Style Oricorio, Red Flower Flabebe, Blue Flower Flabebe, and Yellow Flower Flabebe will also appear more frequently than normal in the wild during this event, but these different styles of Oricorio and Flabebe will only appear in certain areas around the world. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Baile Style Oricorio – Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
  • Pom-Pom Style Oricorio – the Americas
  • Pa’u Style Oricorio – African, Asian, Pacific, and Caribbean islands
  • Sensu Style Oricorio – the Asia-Pacific region
  • Red Flower Flabebe – Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
  • Blue Flower Flabebe – the Asia-Pacific region
  • Yellow Flower Flabebe – the Americas

Two in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

  • Players will have an increased chance of receiving Candy XL when walking with their Buddy Pokemon.
  • Players will receive two Candy XL when evolving a Pokemon.

During this event, players will be able to spend 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust to change Furfrou into its Heart Trim.

Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with Snubbull, Roselia, Heart Pattern Spinda, Clamperl, Luvdisc, Furfrou, and Stufful.

Players will also be able to enter their “Buddy Pokemon” at Pokemon Showcases during this event. In order to participate in one of these Pokemon Showcases, a Buddy Pokemon must be at the “Great Buddy” level or higher.

Elsewhere, players will be able to complete a Collection Challenge during this event to receive experience points, Stardust, and an encounter with Roserade.

Once this event begins, the Luvdisc Tambourine Pose will become available to purchase in the in-game store, and it will remain available even after this event ends.

Players will have the option to spend $1 to receive Timed Research tasks during this event. If players complete these tasks before time runs out, they’ll receive Stardust, experience points, two Incense, and an encounter with Heart Pattern Spinda. Players will have the option to purchase this ticket for themselves, and they’ll also have the option to purchase the ticket for their in-game friends.

Finally, players in Brazil will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon during this event.
