Battle it out using Nickelodeon characters in this family-friendly fighting game.

GameMill Entertainment recently released Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 on consoles and PC. The game is the sequel to the original Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl video game from 2021.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a family-friendly fighting game that allows players to compete against computer-controlled opponents and other real people using a wide variety of Nickelodeon characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Aang from the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise, and Ren & Stimpy, among others.

The game features multiple gameplay modes. To start, the Campaign mode is a single-player roguelike experience that challenges players to defeat the evil Vlad Plasmius. Since this is a roguelike experience, players likely won’t be able to complete the campaign the first time they try.

Instead, the campaign is designed to allow players to become stronger over time, making future attempts a bit easier (in theory), until players eventually make it to the end. To be especially clear, when players lose in the campaign mode, they won’t be able to continue where they left off. Instead, they’ll have to start over from the beginning each time.

Each time players attempt the campaign mode, they’ll be challenged to complete a different assortment of stages, including battle stages, platforming stages, and more. Players start as SpongeBob SquarePants, but they can unlock additional fighters over time as they defeat them in battle. Players have the option to use a different character each time they attempt the campaign.

When players lose in the campaign mode, they’ll return to a hub area where they can spend the currency they’ve earned to purchase items that will help them on their next attempt.

The Campaign mode has three difficulty levels to choose from.

In addition to this Campaign mode, the game features a Battle mode that allows players to compete in quick matches against computer-controlled opponents and their friends and family in the same room, as well as an Online mode that allows players to compete in casual and ranked matches against other real players. These Battle and Online matches support up to four real players. Finally, the “Single Player” mode allows players to play mini-games, train in a “Dojo,” and more.

During battles, players will be able to attack opponents using a variety of moves, with each character having different attacks and abilities available to them. This means players can try different characters over time to find the one that best suits their play style. At the same time, this also means the game is quite complicated, with lots of different movesets to memorize, which may make the experience too complex for younger players.

Finally, when players want to take a break from the game, they can view any trophies and images they’ve unlocked in the game’s Gallery, as well as listen to the game’s soundtrack from the main menu.
