During a Nintendo Direct video presentation Wednesday, Nintendo revealed Mario Strikers: Battle League, the next game in the Mario Strikers series.

Mario Strikers: Battle League will allow players to compete in a game called “Strike,” a five-vs-five version of soccer that allows players to use items, tackle other players, and use “special shots” in an effort to earn points.

The game will feature multiple playable characters, such as Mario, Peach, Toad, and Yoshi. Players will be able to customize their characters with gear that will impact their appearance and their in-game stats.

Mario Strikers: Battle League will allow up to eight players to play together on a single Switch system in four-vs-four matches. The game will also support online multiplayer gameplay. Finally, players will be able to join Online Clubs with other real people. Up to 20 players will be able to join a single Club.
