Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town: How to Use Fishing Bait

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 12:04 am

Let's go fishing!

Fishing is one of the many activities players can try in Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. As players collect fish, they can use them in cooking recipes, donate them to the museum, or even sell them for a quick profit.

While players can catch fish without using any bait, you can also use fishing bait to improve your catches. For instance, “Mysterious Bait” makes it easier to catch rare fish.

Before you can use bait, you’ll need to manually attach the bait to your fishing pole. That is, even if you have both fishing bait and your fishing rod in your inventory, you won’t automatically use the bait when you cast your line.

In order to connect bait to your fishing rod, open your inventory, highlight the bait you want to use, and then press “Y” to open the item’s menu.

Now select “Attach to Fishing Rod” to attach the bait to your fishing pole. A small hook icon will appear next to the bait to remind you it’s attached to your fishing rod.

If you ever want to remove the bait you’re using, highlight the bait in your inventory, press “Y” to open the item’s menu, and select “Detach from Fishing Rod.”

And that’s all there is to it! Happy fishing!

There are lots of fish to catch in Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, and it will likely take you quite a while to catch them all. That being the case, you may want to check out the ChargePlay Clutch from HyperX. It can extend your device’s battery life so you can play Pioneers of Olive Town (and other Switch games) for a longer period of time before having to charge your Switch.
