Rayman Mini: A SuperParent First Look

Rayman is back for another kid-friendly platforming adventure.

Rayman Mini is the latest game in the popular Rayman franchise, and it’s available now on Apple Arcade.

In Rayman Mini, Rayman has been hit with a spell that’s caused him to shrink to the size of an ant. You’ll need to help Rayman undo this curse by completing side-scrolling levels across multiple environments.

In each level, Rayman runs across the screen automatically, and you can tap, tap and hold, or swipe on the screen to cause him to jump, glide, attack enemies, or even use a crush attack.

Each level is full of platforms to jump on and/or over, and many also have obstacles to avoid. Stages are also full of lums, friendly little creatures that Rayman can collect as he runs.

There are a set number of lums to collect in each level, and if you manage to grab every lum in a stage, you’ll receive a token that can be spent on new costumes for the game’s three playable characters.

The game’s levels start out simply and become more complicated as you progress. If you’re interested in collecting ever lum in the game, you can replay stages to find any you missed. Sometimes, lums are hidden in out-of-the-way areas, and you’ll need to take a detour to find some before heading back onto the main path to reach the end of a stage.

Finally, there is no traditional “lives” system in Rayman Mini, so if you take damage you can simply retry your current stage until you finish it.

Rayman Mini is rated 4+ on Apple Arcade. As with all games on Apple Arcade, it doesn’t contain in-app purchases or advertisements.
