Follow our guide to find this pocket monster!

The Crown Tundra expansion for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield is full of Legendary Pokemon for you to find and capture.

While many Legendary Pokemon can be encountered and captured by completing Dynamax Adventures, others require you to complete different missions and actions. One of these is Registeel.

Here’s everything you need to know about finding, battling, and catching Registeel in the Crown Tundra!

As you make your way through the storyline in The Crown Tundra expansion, Peony will ask you to explore a series of ruins throughout the region in order to discover the Pokemon located inside.

Registeel can be found inside the Iron Ruins.

The Iron Ruins are found in the Giant’s Bed area of the Crown Tundra. Check out the screenshot below to see their exact location.

When you interact with the door to the Iron Ruins, you’ll receive a clue that can help you figure out how to open it: “Let ring the piercing note that will wake the giant of steel.”

As reported by Instagram user “exclusivespoke,” you can open the door by simply standing in front of it and whistling (click the left analog stick on your controller).

Once you head inside the Iron Ruins, walk across the seven circles on the floor to cause them to light up (you can walk across them in any order). This will cause the statue at the back of the room to light up as well.

Interact with the statue and select “Yes” to instantly start your battle against Registeel. This is a normal Pokemon battle, meaning it gives you a chance to capture Registeel!

Make sure to save your game before starting this battle. That way, you can easily reset the game and try again if you run out of Poke Balls or Registeel knocks out your entire party before you can capture it.

Legendary Pokemon are notoriously difficult to capture. That means it may take you quite a while (and even a few resets) to add Registeel to your collection. That being the case, you may want to check out the ChargePlay Clutch from HyperX. It can extend your device’s battery life so you can play Pokemon Sword and Shield (and other Switch games) for a longer period of time before having to charge your Switch. Head over to HyperX’s website to learn more about the ChargePlay Clutch and the company’s other accessories.

Once you’ve captured Registeel, you may be interested in catching Regirock and Regice as well. Check out our guides to learn more about catching these Legendary Pokemon!
