Pokemon Sword and Shield Cram-O-Matic Guide

Here's how to turn unwanted items into something different.

In the Isle of Armor expansion for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, you have the ability to use a fun machine called the Cram-o-Matic to turn items you no longer need or want into items that you may like more.

When you first start the Isle of Armor expansion, the Cram-o-Matic won’t be operational, because Hyde needs more Watts to power it up. Interact with the machine, and you can give Hyde the Watts he needs.

Once the Cram-o-Matic is powered on, you can begin inserting items into the machine that you no longer want. Each time you insert four items, you’ll receive one different item in exchange.

For instance, at one point we inserted four Tiny Mushrooms and received one Big Mushroom in exchange. On another instance, we inserted four Big Mushrooms into the machine and received a Balm Mushroom in return.

Hyde will tell you that if you insert four Apricorns into the machine, there’s the chance you’ll receive a rare Poke Ball in exchange. You can find these Apricorns around the Isle of Armor (we’ve found quite a few in the Forest of Focus).

When you want to use the Cram-o-Matic, interact with it at the Dojo. Then, select “Combine items.”

Press “A” on your controller to select the four items you want to insert into the machine. Once you’ve chosen four items, select “Yes” to continue the process.

You’ll need to save your game before continuing, so select “Yes” to do so.

Now, the machine will combine your four items and give you another item in exchange.

You can use the machine as many times as you want by simply repeating this process.

Have fun!
