The games take players to the Paldea region of the Pokemon universe.

Trainers, it’s time to embark on a new adventure in the Pokemon universe, as Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are now available on Nintendo Switch.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are open-world role-playing games (RPGs) that will allow players to explore an open world on their own and with up to three other players. Players will be able to choose from three starting Pokemon: Sprigatito (the Grass Cat Pokemon), Fuecoco (the Fire Croc Pokemon) and Quaxly (the Duckling Pokemon).

The game will also allow players to complete three different storylines. The Pokemon press site offered a synopsis of each story:

  • Victory Road: Players will go to Gyms in different locations to achieve Champion Rank.
  • Path of Legends: Upperclassmen Arven will join the player in search of rare ingredients called Herba Mystica.
  • Starfall Street: Players will challenge Team Star, a group of delinquents causing trouble for the school.”

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are now available on Switch for $59.99 each. A Double Pack containing both games is also available for $119.99.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are rated E for Everyone by the ESRB. You can learn more about the games in our previous coverage.
