Pokemon Go Wurmple Evolution Guide

Everything you need to know.

In Pokemon Go, most Pokemon can be evolved in the same way — you just need to collect the required number of Pokemon Candy and press the evolve button. However, there are a few Pokemon that have unique evolutionary paths or requirements. For instance, you can only evolve Combee into Vespiquen if Combee is female, while Eevee can be evolved into seven different Pokemon after fulfilling various requirements.

Another Pokemon with a unique evolutionary system is Wurmple, a Bug-type Pokemon from Generation III of the Pokemon universe.

Here’s everything you need to know about evolving this cute pocket monster!

Before we begin, keep in mind that this guide relates to normal and Shiny Wurmple. If Wurmple is wearing a costume (like the Wurmple wearing a party hat from the Adventure Sync Hatchathon event), it may not be able to evolve at all.

Wurmple can be evolved into either Silcoon or Cascoon using just 12 Wurmple Candy. However, you won’t know which Pokemon you’ll receive when you press the evolve button (that’s why the button has a question mark on it). This means you may wind up with duplicate Pokemon on your quest to collect one of each.

Once you’ve collected either Silcoon or Cascoon, the evolutionary process goes back to normal. That is, Silcoon can be evolved into Beautifly using 50 Wurmple Candy, and Cascoon can be evolved into Dustox using 50 Wurmple Candy. There’s no “trick” to evolving these Pokemon.
