Pokemon Go Winter Holiday Part 1: Mega Glalie, Shiny Bergmite, and More

As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed details about a “Winter Holiday Part 1” event that’s coming soon to Pokemon Go.

The Winter Holiday Part 1 event will run from December 15, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until December 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time.

Once this event begins, Shiny Bergmite will become available to collect in Pokemon Go.

During this event, costumed Pikachu, Swinub, Delibird, Snorunt, costumed Spheal, Snover, Vanillite, Cubchoo, and Bergmite will appear more frequently than normal in the wild. Alolan Vulpix, costumed Stantler, and Cryogonal will also have the chance to appear in the wild during this event, though the Pokemon Go website indicated they’ll be rarer than the other Pokemon that will appear in the wild during this event.

A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Costumed Pikachu, Alolan Vulpix, costumed Spheal, Galarian Darumaka, and Bergmite
  • Tier-3 Raids – Cloyster, Lapras, costumed Stantler, and costumed Glaceon
  • Tier-5 Raids – Cobalion
  • Mega Raids – Mega Glalie

Cobalion that are caught during this event will know the move Sacred Sword.

Players will have the chance to hatch Sneasel, Smoochum, Amaura, Bergmite, and Crabrawler from 7 km Eggs that are collected during this event.

In addition, two in-game bonuses will be available during this event:

Players will receive 50 percent more experience points when winning Raid battles during this event.

Players will be able to hold up to 40 Gifts at one time during this event.

Elsewhere, players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with costumed Pikachu, Alolan Vulpix, Seel, Shellder, Jynx, costumed Stantler, costumed Spheal, and Crabrawler. Players will also be able to encounter Sneasel and costumed Glaceon by completing event-themed Field Research tasks during this event, though the Pokemon Go website indicated they’ll be rarer than the other available Pokemon.

In addition to receiving Pokemon encounters, players will be able to receive Abomasnow Mega Energy by completing Field Research tasks during this event.

Once the Winter Holiday Part 1 event begins, players will be able to purchase new avatar items from the in-game shop. Here are the items that will be available:

  • Holiday Pajama Top
  • Holiday Pajama Bottoms
  • Holiday Pajama Slippers
  • Gifting Pose
  • Holiday Hat
  • Holiday Beard
  • Holiday Suit

Players will also be able to collect event-themed stickers during this event by spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them in the in-game store.

Finally, once this event begins, players will have the option to spend $5 to receive event-themed Timed Research tasks. If players complete these tasks before time runs out, they’ll receive a pose for their avatar. As players complete these tasks, they’ll also receive rewards including two Incubators, an Incense, Abomasnow Mega Energy, and Pokemon encounters.
